My house is full again, and honestly? I could not be happier about it.
My son is home, and that means all my boys are under one roof, and my heart is just… full. We’ve been making the most of it. Hiking in Zion and riding ATVs through the red rocks. The kind of days where you’re a little sunburned and a lot tired and you don’t care one bit because you are together.
And while I’ve been out there soaking it all in, life has been moving fast for the people I care about too. I have a client that is about to retire and with her husband – will move to a new state. A clean slate, a new chapter, a leap of faith! Another one packed a bag and headed to Costa Rica for a month. Not a vacation, a month. I love that for her.
That’s what this season can look like when you’ve done the work. When the plan is in place and the money makes sense, you get to say yes to the things that make life feel like yours.
That’s why we’re here! So whether you’re in the middle of a big transition or just starting to think about what comes next, grab a cup of something and settle in. We’ve got good stuff this month.
Warmly,
Betty

I sat down with Christopher Dale, CFP® and Certified Financial Transitionist, for one of the most meaningful conversations I’ve had on this podcast. Grief changes everything, including how we think about money.
Christopher didn’t come to this work from a textbook. He came from the bedside of his parents, navigating illness, loss, and overwhelming financial responsibility at a young age. His story is raw, real, and deeply human.
We talked about why major financial decisions made during grief can feel paralyzing, why the “just get it done” approach often backfires, and why the right support, emotional and financial, can make all the difference when life changes overnight.
If you’re navigating loss right now, or walking alongside someone who is, this one is for you.

It did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and they handled our allergies which can sometimes be a challenge.
Now, the waiter? Bless his heart.Dropped food, dropped plates, and then somehow managed to collide directly with my client when she was trying to get to the ladies’ room.
The meal was a ten. The service was… an experience. We laughed about it the rest of the meal, and honestly, that’s not the worst thing that can happen at a client lunch.
Would I go back for the food though? Without question!
Okay, I’m putting this out there, I haven’t read anything lately that truly grabbed me, and I’m searching for my next great, or even pretty good, next read.
So I’m turning it around: what are you reading? Fiction, nonfiction, doesn’t matter. If something inspired you, made you think, or just kept you up past your bedtime, I want to know. Reply to this email and tell me. PLEASE.
If this issue reminded you of anything, I hope it’s this: the life you want doesn’t just happen. It’s planned for.
The big moves, the long trips, the fresh starts in new places. Those aren’t accidents, those are decisions that got made, and then got funded, and then got lived.
That’s the whole point: do the work now so that when the moment comes, and it will come, you can say yes without hesitation!
Do you have your plan? Not just the retirement account. The life plan. The one that gets you to Costa Rica, or the new city, or whatever your version of that looks like.
If you’re not sure, let’s talk. Call me. That’s what I’m here for.
