Happy Thanksgiving! Every year I make my kids watch Garfield’s Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. The nostalgia makes me happy and grateful. Sometimes it’s still hard for me to believe that I’m a grown-up and have a family of my own! I’m hoping this year will be the year that I can force my family to watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. So good!
Wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this week:
I like saving money as much as the next person. I also like this idea from an eco-friendly perspective. But I’m not ready to “Buy Nothing”. You?
As you can see, inflation is the latest hot topic in the world of finance. Here are some ideas of how to protect your spending dollars.
Investing in bonds (you are loaning money to a company) is getting a bad rap in the marketplace due to the massive run in stocks. Read why you should consider keeping bonds as part of your overall portfolio.
If you or someone you know is considering a divorce, this article deserves a read. Divorce is an emotionally draining and stressful time. Most people don’t have the bandwidth to consider the financial ramifications when assets are being split. It can help to engage a financial planner early in the process of your divorce. Please let me know if you ever need a referral to a financial planner who specializes in the divorce process.
This week I read two interesting articles on how to stop caring what other people think of you. Studies show when you stop letting other people’s opinions seep into how you view yourself, you will be happier. As a recovering people-pleaser (I relapse all the time…), it was interesting to read how human it is to care what other humans think of you. It goes back to cave person times. This article gives tips on how to consciously train ourselves to stop caring what others think of us.
Um, can I be this person’s friend? It would be incredible to have enough financial security to be able to take friends on vacation! Where would you take your BFFs?
Until next week!
