Ed Slott, a leading expert in the land of IRAs and corny jokes, and Jeff Levine, a tax expert, share their advice.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kiplinger.com\/retirement\/retirement-planning\/602530\/6-retirement-killers-to-avoid-at-all-costs?rid=EML-retire&amp;rmrecid=4454071548&amp;utm_campaign=20210519-retire&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=retire\"><strong>6 \u2018Retirement Killers\u2019 to Avoid at All Costs<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">Helpful tips for everyone. I would add a 7th Retirement Killer as Lifestyle Creep. Lifestyle Creep is mindlessly spending more as you earn more. It is also known as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, I mean, Joneses. Spend on what brings YOU joy, what YOU value. Ramit Sethi explains it:\u00a0<em>\u2018The most successful people I\u2019ve met are all very conscious about how they spend their money. That doesn\u2019t mean they don\u2019t spend at all. It means that they choose HOW and WHERE to spend their money, and are unapologetic in allocating significant resources to live a better life.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/05\/24\/health\/katy-milkman-habits-mindfulness-wellness\/index.html\"><strong>How to Build Lasting Habits for a Better Life<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">This subject always interests me, personally and professionally. People don\u2019t realize how much of their behavior around money is actually tied to habits they have learned or acquired throughout their life. I need help breaking my Oreo habit!
