This tends to be the number one goal for most of my clients. The freedom to chose\u00a0<strong><em>when<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><em>how<\/em><\/strong> they want to retire. The freedom to chose to downshift their career or to take a risk and go for their dream job or business. The freedom to put their heads on their pillows at night and not worry about what the economy or market is doing. It shouldn\u2019t be surprising that relief from the stress of being unsure of what to actually do with their money is also high on the priority list for clients. For those of you who want to do it on your own, this article helps with steps you can take to get closer to financial freedom. For the rest of you, finding the right financial guide and partner is your next step. I may know someone. ? Paris Hilton, anyone\u2026 just sayin\u2019. However, trusts can be great estate planning tools for many people who want control of who receives their assets when they die or are incapacitated. Another benefit of a trust is to bypass probate, which can be expensive especially if you live in California, and to protect the privacy of your assets. If your assets pass through probate, it is public record and anyone can get the information. According to the article, a revocable trust is like the \u201cminivan of estate planning\u2026 multipurpose and used more by the upper-middle class.\u201d Depending on your situation, trusts may be a good option to discuss with an attorney.<\/p>\n<h3><a style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif; font-size: revert; font-weight: revert;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stylist.co.uk\/money\/6-money-types-financial-wellbeing\/547719\"><strong>There Are Six Different \u2018Money Types\u2019. Which One Are You?<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">Our financial lives directly effect our mental health and if we feel happy or not. You May Have \u2018Cave Syndrome\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">A couple weeks ago I went on my first plane trip since February 2020 for work. Then I spent 2 days with 25 other human beings who weren\u2019t my immediate family before flying home. I won\u2019t lie, it was overwhelming. Re-entry to semi-normal has been awkward and anxiety producing. As someone who loved living in the sea of people in downtown Chicago and San Francisco and who loved to travel, it was weird to be so thrown off by something that used to never bother me. So it was timely to read about \u201cCave Syndrome\u201d in this article. I have it, but am making progress. ?<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/family\/archive\/2021\/04\/working-wishing-happiness\/618664\/\"><strong>Don\u2019t Wish for Happiness. Work for It.<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cRumination is to be stuck; self-reflection is to seek to be unstuck. The trick, of course, is telling the difference.\u201d This line seemed very profound when I read it. Maybe it\u2019s just the mood I\u2019m in today. Thought I\u2019d share. Another tidbit I liked was to reprogram yourself for action.
