The economy and stock market measure different things and grow\/recede at different rates.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/How-Invest-My-Money-Finance\/dp\/0857198084\/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=how+i+invest+my+money&amp;qid=1631741570&amp;s=books&amp;sr=1-1\"><strong>How I Invest My Money<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Edited by Joshua Brown and Brian Portnoy<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">In this book, 25 financial experts (Chief Investment Officers, venture capitalists, financial advisors) share how they invest their own money. The common theme for the chapters I have read so far is having purpose for their money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\n<div class=\"\n          image-block-outer-wrapper\n          layout-caption-below\n          design-layout-inline\n          combination-animation-none\n          individual-animation-none\n          individual-text-animation-none\n        \" data-test=\"image-block-inline-outer-wrapper\"><\/p>\n<figure class=\"\n              sqs-block-image-figure\n              intrinsic\n            \" style=\"max-width: 3024px;\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"image-block-wrapper\" data-animation-role=\"image\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;\">I tell clients we can\u2019t get to the \u201chow\u201d &#8211; the tactics of where to allocate their money &#8211; until we know the \u201cwhy\u201d. Otherwise, you risk running in the wrong direction of where you want to go. In his chapter, Mr. Seawright said \u201cOne\u2019s purposes provide the foundation upon which a financial plan is built. A good financial plan is designed to provide a means and the funding for living out one\u2019s life\u2026 on purpose.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/planning-to-retire-heres-a-list-of-at-least-14-things-to-account-for-first-11628619254\"><strong>Planning to Retire? Here\u2019s a List of at Least 14 Things to Account For First<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">This article gives you a good place to start.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesswrong.com\/posts\/7hFeMWC6Y5eaSixbD\/100-tips-for-a-better-life\"><strong>100 Tips for a Better Life<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">Light-hearted article with some good tips! My favorite was #45 \u201cIf you\u2019re under 90, try things.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kathykuohome.com\/blog\/lighting-101\/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwkIGKBhCxARIsAINMioICqrq17WH_Agl7cI1_dT-_OIh2sn1-eni4aUKM22aKNnN_MJfZf_gaAkQjEALw_wcB\"><strong>Kathy Kuo Home\u2019s Lighting 101<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">Last week I went down the dark hole of light fixtures for our house remodel. I seriously think I have seen every light fixture known to man at this point. Who knew there were so many #$%$ lights??? When you pick one light fixture, it effects all of your other light choices. ? It reminded me of how a financial plan works (because I am a nerd\u2026) When you make choices in one part of your plan, other parts may need to be adjusted. It\u2019s a dynamic process in which all the pieces have to fit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Unfortunately, there wasn\u2019t an Excel spreadsheet to help me with picking light fixtures! And as with most things I don\u2019t understand, I went researching for the answer. Perhaps a little obsessively. Perhaps.
